Recruitment 招募
We have established a stringent and transparent recruitment process to ensure that our program benefits those who need it most. Our program accepts 20 - 30 students per year to ensure that we are providing high-quality training. Since our students come from various backgrounds, we customize their training to meet the capabilities of each student and to provide them with the individual attention needed. This ensures high success rates.
We work with our network of partner NGOs to identify and select our students. We review applications based on the following criteria:
- Youth, age 17-23, who because of financial difficulties are not able to continue their schooling to acquire tertiary education or vocational training
- Family background: orphans; single-parent household with very low incomes; sick parents who are not able to work to support the family
- Able to read, write and calculate; physically and mentally suited to kitchen work; with no previous criminal records
- Need to be recommended by one of our partner associations who have been working with these individuals and are well aware of their family and income situation.
Our recruitment process includes:
- A written application file, completed by both the candidates and the partner association who recommends them.
- Shorted-listed candidates are called for an oral interview, either in-person or over the phone, with the SYB program managers.
- Acceptance is based on personal motivation and family financial difficulties.
