Business Traveller China Awards fundraises for Chiheng foundation and SYB program
On Wednesday 14th November, the results of the 2012 Business Traveller China Awards were announced at a gala dinner, staged at the Westin Bund Center. Leading lights from the Chinese hospitality and airline industry were attending the dinner, that was organized by B usiness Traveller’s parent company, Panacea Publishing Asia.
Since 2006, Panacea Publishing Asia has generously chosen to make the event a fundraiser for Chiheng Foundation, the governing body of Shanghai Young Bakers. This year the focus was on SYB, that had prepared cookie bags for all the guests. I first presented the program, and then gave the floor to the four graduate students that introduced themselves in English. Xiao Jinjin, our pastry chef, impressed the audience by doing her self-introduction in French!
All of them are wonderful success stories: coming from Henan and Anhui, their parents died of illness, thus leaving them in a precarious financial situation. Their education was first sponsored by Chiheng Foundation, and they then joined Shanghai Young Bakers. All of them are now bakers in five-stars hotels in Shanghai such as JW Marriott.
Zhang Gaopeng, now working at Waldorf Astoria, especially moved the audience by saying “SYB made me happy every day, and I learnt so much during that year!”

《商旅》读者大奖为智行与海上青焙坊募捐
在11月14号，星期三，2012《商旅》读者评选大奖颁奖晚宴在上海外滩中心威斯汀大饭店举行。中国旅游及航空业的翘楚都参与了这次由《商旅》杂志的母公司 Panacea Publishing Asia举办的晚宴。
自2006年起，Panacea Publishing Asia 慷慨的选择了智行基金会，SYB的监管机构，作为慈善受赠机构。今年的焦点则是海上青焙坊。海上青焙坊为所有的来宾都准备的精致的饼干。我首先为大家介绍了这个项目，然后把舞台让给了我们四个毕业生，他们用英语介绍了他们自己。肖金金，我们的西点老师，用法语介绍了自己，给大家留下了深刻的印象。
他们都是美丽的成功典范：他们来自河南和安徽省，他们的父母因疾病过世，只留他们在经济困难的状况。智行基金会赞助了他们的教育费用，然后他们加入了海上青焙坊。他们现在是上海五星酒店的烘焙师，例如万豪酒店。
现在在上海外滩华尔道夫酒店工作的张高鹏用这样一番话打动了所有人：“是海上青焙坊让我每天都如此快乐，我在那一年中学到了太多东西！”
我们再次感谢Panacea Publishing Asia并且感谢所有的合作酒店。它们帮助我们的贫困的年轻人学会了自我赋权！
