SYB students visit Jing An bakeries

On September 15th, SYB students went to Jing An district to have a look at the numerous bakeries of the area. In 3 hours, the young bakers visited more than 10 bakeries, led by their bakery teacher Wang Li. She pointed out the differences between French and Asian bakeries, and the students were surprised to see that they already can bake quite a few of these breads and pastries.

A few weeks ago, most of the young bakers had no idea what bread was, so the goal of this tour was to show them how popular bread is in Shanghai, and that there are many job opportunities in that field. As a matter of fact, they met a 4th batch graduate working at Sunflour when they were visiting that bakery, an inspiring role model for the young bakers!

在9月15日,SYB学生来到了静安区参观了很多优秀的面包房。在三个小时里,这些年轻人在烘焙老师王莉的带领下参观了超过十个面包房。王莉老师向大家介绍了法式和亚洲面包房的不同,学生们看到如此品种繁多的面包,都觉得自己还需要多学习。

几个星期前,大部分的学生对面包没有任何了解,所以这次参观的目的就是告诉他们面包在上海的受欢迎程度,并向他们展示了以后在这个领域的工作机会。事实上,他们在Sunflour面包店参观的时候,还遇到了在这里工作的SYB第四期毕业生,这对他们来说是面包师的榜样!
