In China, winter comes with preparation of the New Year. Ten more days to go and the Young Bakers will be able to return to their home and have a well-deserved rest with their families. Indeed, January has been a bit stressful as they had their first examinations of the year. So far, all of them have successfully passed the Chinese pastry theory and practical exams, part of their one-year training, and the results of their French bakery examination will come out soon. As Xiao Liu said: ” Even though I don’t know whether I have passed or not, I am proud because it was my first time baking products from scratch on my own”.

As it is the end of the first semester and the Young Bakers have started their internships for now three months, we visited each of our partner hotels, to meet with the Chefs and receive their feedback on the trainees’ overall performance. Even though they are already in touch with the SYB teachers on a regular basis, it is a great way for us to check the students’ evolution and to provide each of them a customized assistance throughout the year, thanks to the support of their Chefs and the HR teams!

Having his internship at the Pullman South, one of our partner hotels from Accor group, Xiao An says: ” When I started my internship, everything was new to me. Thanks to the help of my Chef, I got more familiar with the work environment and have the chance to be integrated into a professional team of passionate bakers, with the opportunity of learning and improving every day!”

So let’s all wish the Young Bakers a very exciting and relaxing time at home, while sharing about their life at SYB!

在中国,冬季总是伴随着为春节做准备。再过10多天,海上青焙师就能够回到家乡得到充分的休息并陪伴他们的亲人。事实上, 1月以来学员们因要准备今年的第一场考试而一直有点紧张。到目前为止,所有人都顺利通过了作为一年培训内容的中国西点理论和实践考试,而他们的法式面点考试结果也会很快出来。小刘说:“虽然我不知道自己是否已经通过考试,但我很自豪,因为这是我第一次完全靠自己从无到有地烘焙出产品”。

因为如今已到第一学期的末尾,学员们已进行了3个月的实习,我们参观了每一个合作伙伴的酒店,与主厨们见面并了解他们对于我们实习生整体表现的反馈。虽主厨们也定期联系海上青焙坊(SYB)的老师,正是由于一直以来他们和其人力资源团队的支持,这种沟通才成为一个很好的方式去看到青焙师们的成长轨迹并针对每一个学生提供其真正需要的帮助。

小安在SYB合作伙伴雅高集团旗下的上海斯格威铂尔曼大酒店实习,他说: “当我开始实习,所有的一切都是全新的。感谢厨师对我的帮助,能够让我更熟悉工作环境,有机会融入充满热情的专业面包师团队,能够每天学习并提升自己!”
