Last public class before summer break: Pretzel and Milk bread!

Join our last public class on July 9th before we break for the summer holidays!

In this class, you will learn to bake salted bread and sweet bread: German Pretzel and French milk bread.

If you are a bakery-lover, don’t miss this chance to learn TWO typical traditional recipes easily repeatable at home, with professional SYB bakery trainer!

Pretzel is traditional German-style bread usually in shape of a twisted not, it is believed to be originated in Europe in the Early Middle Ages and commonly seasoned with salt. In this class you will use the same dough to make 3 different shapes, and explore more possibilities of this symbolic and tasty salty bread.

Milk bread is popular French sweet bread, dotted with nibbled sugar; this bun is not difficult to make and it tastes amazing with its flaky texture and buttery flavor. You can serve them with coffee or tea to enjoy the peaceful afternoon. Be creative, you can practice your shaping skill with this recipe!

This is also the last public class before summer break since the 8th batch of SYB students are graduating this July. It’s been a great pleasure to see the disadvantaged youth that we are helping find their passion for authentic French bakery.

Come and learn these two recipes on Saturday July 9th. You will have fun with other pastry enthusiasts from SYB community. Most importantly, by participating in the class, you will also directly support SYB’s charity program.

All proceeds from this class and SYB’s other social enterprise activities help fund one year of training in professional French bakery skills for disadvantaged Chinese youth. With these vocational skills, SYB students are able to find stable jobs and lead independent lives after graduation.

Be an instrumental part of SYB’s social change while enjoying a fun day of baking!
