The Young Bakers celebrate the Lantern Festival

On Monday, February 22nd, the Young Bakers gathered at a traditional local restaurant to celebrate the Lantern Festival with the SYB teachers and team, after a two-week break with their families for the Spring Festival. It was their first time seeing their families since they had joined SYB and we could read the excitement in their eyes before they got onto trains and buses to meet their loved ones all around China. After the holidays, the students came back to Shanghai refilled of energy to start the second semester!

The Lantern Festival being traditionally spent with their family as well, it was only natural to gather the SYB family for a simple but nice dinner, sharing stories about home, and eating joyfully. After dinner, some of the students shared their holidays with the whole group and everyone got to learn about the traditions in different parts of China such as in Qinghai, Sichuan and Inner Mongolia.

After dinner the students got back early to the dormitory to prepare for their exam the next day!
