On October, Monday 26th afternoon, the Young Bakers had the chance to visit a 5-star hotel for the first time: Sofitel Hyland, warmly welcomed the 31 students of the 8th batch.
The Sofitel Hyland is one of SYB’s historical partners: this is where the ceremony for the launch of the program took place in 2009, and since then, 11 students had the opportunity to do their internship in the bakery department, under the guidance of experience Chefs.

10月26日,一个星期一的下午,海上青焙坊第8届的31位学员们首次来到索菲特海仑宾馆进行参观学习并得到了酒店的热烈欢迎。
索菲特海仑宾馆作为一家高档的五星级酒店,与海上青焙坊结缘至深:早在2009年,青焙坊的公益事业正是在此宣布正式起航;之后共有11位SYB学员先后在海仑宾馆的烘焙厨房实习工作,并得到酒店烘培师们的专业指导。

The visit began with the Bakery & Pastry department. Here the students met Pastry Chef Lily and Executive Chef Sasha. The students had the chance to see what a kitchen looks like in a 5-star hotel. They were able to observe the machines used and the products made by the Sofitel Hyland. They also have the chance to see the employees at work and see how a real hotel kitchen works. Moreover, as the Executive Chef and the Pastry Chef were present they had the opportunity to ask questions and have answers from professionals of the sector. The students were very involved and very impressed!

首先从索菲特海仑宾馆的面包西点部开始我们的参观之旅。西点主厨Lily,行政主厨Sasha和学员们见面啦。在这里,学员们用自己的双眼了解到一个五星级酒店烘焙厨房的方方面面:从厨房内部构造,烘焙使用的机器,海仑宾馆的烘培出品,到专业烘焙师们的工作情形和厨房的整体运作。更重要的是,有行政主厨和西点主厨在场,学员们可以提出自己的种种疑惑,针对这些问题主厨们给出了专业的回答。双方积极互动,气氛热烈,学员们纷纷折服于主厨们的专业技能和工作态度。

After the visit of the kitchen, Shelley CHEN, Assistant Training Manager at Sofitel Hyland, presented to the students the history of Accor group, its values, different brands and the different hotels which are part of the Accor group.
在参观完厨房之后,Shelly CHEN, 索菲特海仑宾馆的培训副经理,为海上青焙坊的学员们讲解了酒店所属的雅高集团的企业文化,内容涵盖了雅高集团的企业历史,企业价值观,各个品牌和下属酒店。

Since the students are about to begin their internships and all of them are both excited and apprehensive about working in this very different and unfamiliar environment, the visit has been organized so that they can discover the hospitality world and meet professionals of the sector other than the SYB teachers. Thanks to this visit they could have a better vision of what environment there will be doing their internship at for the next 10 months and possibly working there afterwards!
学员们即将开始酒店的实习工作,想到将要在一个陌生的酒店烘焙厨房工作10个月,大家都感觉既兴奋又不安。为了使大家对于工作环境有更清晰的认识,我们安排了这次酒店参观之旅作为青焙师们的实习’预热’。感谢这次参观为学员们打开了餐饮世界的大门,让他们见到了除SYB的老师以外的众多专业烘培师们,也希望他们在10个月的实习之后能获得留任酒店的宝贵机会!
