THE POWER OF A TEAM

THE POWER OF A TEAM

Humans are amazing. Think about it: built pyramids, eradicated diseases, understood our planet and even landed on another one, we have done all this. And I say “we”. Because none of these could have been possible without cooperation between humans. Whether it is at the same time or across time, humans work together.

The greatest president cannot rule any country without the help of his/her counselors, the smartest scientist cannot elaborate any theory without the past generations of scientists working on the same theory, the most ambitious entrepreneur does not start anything without a multi-skilled team of trustful partners and employees, and I could go on.
But enough with examples, let me go straight to my point:
Whatever your project is, your team is valuable. So take good care of it.
“Take good care of my team… Easier said than done.”
Well, let’s think about it for a minute, you and me, together.

What makes a team successful?

To find this out, let’s create a successful team from scratch. For now, let’s only imagine 7 random people, one next to the other.

01 Good Communication

→ We now have a group of nice, open, respectful people, but that’s it. Let’s keep going.
02 Trust, Support, and Fair contribution

→ Our 7 people are now friends, they all like each other and know that they can count on everyone else in the group. Though they do not know what to do together, they are not a team yet.
03 A Clear Goal for the Group to Focus on

→ Our group of friends evolved into a group of friends with a common goal, such as going on holidays together. Better but still not enough.
04 Good Leadership

→ Our group starts looking like a real team, someone leading the way.
05 Good Organization

→ A good leader does not lead anyone anywhere without a good organization. Now, our team knows what to do and how to do it. We are getting closer!
06 Team Diversity

→ Different backgrounds, skills, points of view will be needed in our team to adapt to any situation. Although, something is still missing…
07 Fun!
→ If the tasks are boring, even the best team will not be efficient. Add some fun to the mix and you finally have your successful team! Congratulations!
That was an interesting exercise, but that was only theory. Let’s practice it! But how?…… Quite conveniently, Shanghai Young Bakers actually happens to offer you an opportunity to practice this successful team theory.
That’s what we call Teambuilding activities!

We Provide:

  • One clear goal:
Bake something. It can be an Éclair, a Mille-Feuille, a Fruit tart, etc. You choose
  • Good leadership:
Our bakery and pastry teachers, Liu Dong and Wang Jingyi, are here to make sure you achieve your goal.

  • Good organization: Our Staff takes care of that part.

You Practice Your Team’s:

  • Communication:

“You see Jeff, that’s how you spread the chocolate”
  • Trust, support, fair contribution

“Lily, could you please help me with the paste?”
  • Diversity:

“In my country, we usually add a bit less sugar…”

And Altogether, We Have the Last Piece: FUN!

Convinced?…
Once again, quite conveniently, the New Year is coming soon. Isn’t it the perfect time to reinforce the links within your team, have fun altogether and support a charity program?
