SYB Students Had Fire Safety Training

SYB Students Had Fire Safety Training

The Young Bakers spend much of their time either studying or working in the kitchen, where the fire is often used. It is then super important for them to raise their awareness of fire safety issues and have knowledge of fire prevention.
On December 2nd, Shanghai Young Bakers invited Mr. Mark Xu, a fire safety expert from GE, to give a fire safety training to the 11th batch of students. This is the fifth year in a row that Mr. Xu has spared his time to provide fire safety training to SYB students.

During the one-hour training, Mr. Xu arranged rich and practical training contents for the students. Students first watched a video about fire accidents, after which they developed an intuitive understanding of the damages of fire accidents. They were also impressed by how quickly the fire spread and how terrible the smoke is.

Then, Mr. Xu introduced fire escape tips and explained how to evacuate safely in case of fire. He demonstrated the evacuation steps step by step, after which the students had a fire safety drill in the baking center.

The final part of the training is about how to use the fire extinguisher, including how to check the fire extinguisher and tell if it is functioning, and things to pay attention to while using it.

After the training, students raised their awareness of fire safety issues and further consolidated their fire safety knowledge. On behalf of SYB, I would like to thank Mr. Xu for his continuous support over the years.
