Christmas activity with Alliance Francaise youngest students!

On December 24th, our pastry trainer Ines conducted a baking activity at the Alliance Française. During this event, the school’s youngest students learned how to decorate sugar cookies. SYB coordinated this event to thank the Alliance Française for its long-time support.

After a brief introduction about our program, Ines proceeded to show the group how to decorate their cookies with coloured icing. The children were each given six cookies, which they could decorate using a range of bright colours. These cookies ended up making a Ginger Bread House.

The event unfolded pleasantly as the kids engaged in the activity with great attention. After an hour of decorating, the tables were filled with original and colourful cookies. During this time, Ines and Zhang Yan, SYB former student who graduated last year, assisted the students who asked for assistance and they helped them then to build houses. It was wonderful to watch the children’s creativity flourish during this activity. They all seemed to have had a really good time!

This year, the Alliance Française is offering 3 of our staff members the opportunity to study French, for free, at their school. We are extremely grateful for their support and generosity. Given SYB’s close ties with France, we believe learning French can greatly benefit our professors.

Taking classes at the Alliance Française is helping our two current professors, Julien and Ines, make significant progress, enabling them to now comfortably navigate between French and Chinese. Flore, former SYB teacher, is SYB Social enterprise technical manager. Thanks to these classes, she can perform in French in our office on a daily basis.

On behalf of SYB, I would like to thank the Alliance Française for their long-term support and for organizing such an enjoyable baking activity at their school!
