Overview 海上青焙坊概况
Shanghai Young Bakers (SYB) provides a fully-sponsored French & Asian bakery training to disadvantaged Chinese youth. Due to the growing demand of bread on the Chinese market, SYB graduates easily find a stable, qualified job after graduation and pull themselves out of the poverty cycle.
Give an orphan some bread, you feed him for one day;
teach him how to bake, you feed him for a lifetime!
At Shanghai Young Bakers, we are not only doing charity. By giving disadvantaged youth the opportunity to learn a valuable skill, we empower them to lead independent lives and help others in return.

Our Team
SYB is operated by a dynamic team of French, Chinese and international employees and volunteers. It is run as a joint programme between Chi Heng Foundation and Shanghai Charity Foundation.

History
SYB was set up in 2008 by 12 French volunteers as a JCEF (French Junior Chamber of Commerce) project. Two years later, SYB was handed over to Chi Heng Foundation to ensure its sustainability.

Vision
Our purpose is to enable disadvantaged youth to lead independent lives through a qualified, empowering job. We will do this by becoming the leading reference in French bakery training in China, and achieving financial autonomy through a social entreprise model.
